The weekly Sacramento News & Review published Tina B. a full Q&A interview in its August 5 issue, alongside a terrific photo of her and the Sacramento Soul Line Dancers performing at the Juneteenth Festival.

Here is an excerpt:

Q: Explain the difference between regular line dancing and soul line dancing.

A: Soul line dancing is basically dancing to soulful music, such as Motown, old school, jazz, gospel and more. It makes people feel good because they are dancing with a group of people, and learning to do the same steps. It’s about being involved in something bigger than yourself.

Big Success for Good Heart Health Series 2!

Fun! That’s the word to describe the experience at Dancing Your Way to Good Heart Health Series 2!  Over 50 participants of all ages had loads of fun soul line dancing and riving up their hearts at the Pannell-Meadowview Community Center.  The day began with a blood pressure screening provided by the California North State College of Pharmacy students; the next activity was a healthy food demonstration by the Network for a Healthy California African American Campaign.  Participants sampled great tasting and nutritious fruit smoothies and veggies.  The third and final activity was soul line dancing with Tina B. and the Soul Line Dancers.  The soul line dancing was scheduled for one hour, but everyone was having such a great and fun time, Tina B and her Soul Line Dancers stayed an extra half an hour.  Loads of laughter and comments like, “can’t wait to do that again,” were heard as participants left the community center, revved up to tackle their Saturday.
